Current research

Industrial PhD project: the main focus of the PhD project, which I am currently working on, is pharmacological characterization of compounds with effect on ligand-gated N-Methyl-D-Aspartate Receptors (NMDARs). I am studying the effect of different NMDAR compounds on both diheteromeric and triheteromeric NMDARs with different in vitro techniques including electrophysiology (two-electrode voltage-clamp technique), binding assay, flux assay, and a real-time internalization assay.

During the project I will be placed at three different locations. The first is H. Lundbeck A/S, where I will do electrophysiological studies and also use a binding assay and a flux assay. Later I will be placed at University of Copenhagen (Hans Bräuner-Osborne's lab.), where I will use a real-time internalization assay. The focus at these two locations will primarily be diheteromeric NMDARs. Later I will also go to University of Montana (Kasper Bø Hansen's lab.), where I will study triheteromeric NMDARs.
