Orphan receptors open for development of new drugs

Usually it takes several years to screen potential drugs. New research could reduce screening times significantly.
Our cells receive signals from the environment and transmits them into the cell via specialized receivers called receptors. As small locks on the cell they can only be unlocked and pass the signal, if the right signal substance binds and acts as the key to the lock. Read the whole article (In Danish)
