Copenhagen Small-Molecule NMR Centre

Copenhagen Small-Molecule NMR Centre

Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology houses Copenhagen Small-Molecule NMR Centre, situated in the NMR basement of building 30 on Jagtvej 162. The facility is equipped with three instruments, of which two are operated as walk-up instruments and one is dedicated to metabolomics and hyphenated HPLC-SPE-NMR experiments.

Current walk-up instrumentation

Two of the core facility's instruments are mostly operated as open-access walk-up instruments, but with the possibility to book instruments for longer experiments or experiments not suitable for automation. A description of the two instruments is given below:

For procedures and rules about the walk-up instruments equipped with autosamplers: House rules.

Dedicated metabolomics and HPLC-SPE-NMR instrument

There is one additional NMR-instrument in Copenhagen Small-Molecule NMR Centre, and this instrument is dedicated to metabolomics studies and HPLC-SPE-NMR experiments.

Steering committee and daily management

The overall organization and strategic initiatives of the facility is handled by a steering committee, currently consisting of Professor Dan Stærk (Chair), Professor Søren Brøgger Christensen, Associate Professor Claus Cornett and Associate Professor Lennart Bunch. The daily management of the facility is carried out by NMR facility manager Dan Stærk, and tasks include monitoring system usage and performance, introducing routine operation and experiments to ordinary users, and assisting specialist users in setting up non-routine experiments. Additional tasks of the NMR manager include preparation of standard operational procedures and user guides, managing data storage and retrieval solutions, assisting with users' installation of data processing software, and organizing workshops and training courses.

External users

Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology invites external users to use the NMR core facility. This could be via collaborative project or via 'Analysis for payment' agreement. Please contact Professor Dan Stærk (ds@sund.ku.dk) for further information.
