Facilities
Cloning and expression of proteins
Equipment for subcloning and expression of proteins in E. coli, yeast, Drosophila cells and baculovirus-infected insect cells, including
3-10 L fermentors operating in fed-batch mode.
Protein purification and characterisation
FPLC for protein purification.
Equipment for protein characterisation, including ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering (DLS), isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy.
Crystallisation
6° and 20° protein crystallisation as well as equipment for continuous temperature change.
X-ray data collection
Rigaku RU300 rotating anode generator equipped with a MAR345 image plate detector and osmic mirrors. Facilities for cryogenic temperatures.
The system is open for other users from The University of Copenhagen and The Danish Technical University.
Computer facilities
Computer laboratory with a 26-node cluster of AMD opteron processors and Linux workstations for structure determinations and molecular modelling studies.
Software
All major packages for crystallographic computing are available, as well as a full suite of programs for molecular modelling, with force field and ab initio calculations, 3D-QSAR studies, protein homology modelling and multivariate statistical analysis.
