Assistant professor

My research is centred around bone pain with an emphasis on investigating the pain phenotypes of patients suffering from metastatic bone disease.

I am currently a co-investigator in the Heegaard Bone Pain Lab that is specialized in investigating pre-clinical and clinical bone pain. Here, I project manage and conduct the laboratory’s clinical studies of metastatic bone disease. Methods include questionnaires, quantitative sensory testing and conditioned pain modulation using cuff pressure algometry.

Moreover, I have a strong background in pre-clinical pain research investigating peripheral and central mechanisms of various acute and chronic pain states. Specific experience with animal models of cancer-induced bone pain was obtained during my PhD at Copenhagen University and later as a postdoctoral research scientist at King’s College London.
