Medicinal Chemistry

Colorful chemical solutions in laboratory glassware symbolizing medicinal chemistry research at the University of Copenhagen, focusing on CNS drug discovery, cancer therapeutics, and radiopharmaceutical chemistry involving ligand design, fragment‑based discovery, and synthesis of novel tool compounds.

The common theme of our research is design and synthesis of novel tool compounds and drug candidates. The overall goal is to identify novel therapeutic principles in the areas of CNS, cancer and infectious diseases.

To reach this objective, we take advantage of structure-based ligand design, fragment-based design, and computational chemistry. We also develop new synthetic methodology as well as new methodologies in radiopharmaceutical chemistry.
